So, maybe translators too
You make a good point
And that’s why I tend to set everything I use to English despite it not being my native language. Bad translations lead to more confusion than having to read English.
After all, even the english version is talking about “Encryption key”. I think the word “Encryption passphrase” would be more appropriate.
Yes I doubt they are actually referring to the key itself. The setup dialog made a lot more sense, but this password dialog has some weirdness to it. I’m sure they’ll sort it out though.
YOu NEED a password. If you upload some files and after this you are using another password you dont have access anymore to your file.
On Linux (Ubuntu) i only have:
Means only Satelite, API and Encryption Passphrase. No other “Password”
That’s not the dialog we were talking about. That one doesn’t have a password field at all. Try telling it to not save the password and then clicking connect. Then you get the dialog with both an encryption key and password field.
When you search for Tardigrade in the Filezilla forum or do a Google search for Filezilla and Tardigrade there are not many results from social media aka users.
Are there any information or statistics on usage available that the Filezilla Tardigrade integration is actively used. It would be very interesting to see.
This question comes with another: Do the Storj APIs or SDKs even have some kind of statistical tracking or telemtry features that can be optionally activated by users to transmit anonymous usage data? So usage data can be seen.
10 posts were split to a new topic: I tested FileZilla and I must say I am not impressed
Need to check may be it is posible to config some range to use only
I did not received the encryption key via email(I saved it in a txt file)…currently the bucket is empty I only see the bucket name… The username seems to be the same as the API key, I tried to enter passwords as encryption password but the bucket is still empty.
2 questions on the Filezilla integration:
-
I have just realized that there is a Filezilla Pro. As this one comes with S3 support for Amazon, does it work with Tardigrade as well?
-
Is there some kind of advanced setting that permits independent uploads and downloads simultaneously? Because if you want to up- and download files at the same time it does not always makes sense to process them like ordered in the queue but by direction.
I am using the latest version, and the Tardigrade option for protocol doen’t appear too.
You could try the portable version from here: https://portableapps.com/
I realized that may be the FileZilla Pro has the protocol option for tardigrade.
I also tried Duplicat…and also there is no Tardigrade option…?!
As in your other post you don’t need FileZilla Pro to use with Tardigrade.
This version works fine.
I used a docker version of duplicati
docker run -it --rm -p 8200:8200 -v ${PWD}/Downloads:/downloads duplicati/duplicati:canary
Then open http://localhost:8200 and check - it has Tardigrade as a destination.
You also can use this instruction: https://documentation.tardigrade.io/how-tos/backup-with-duplicati
