Hello,
I would like to prepare my 2nd node.
My first node is full at about 90%. May I use the same Rpi4 to create my second node ?
Do I have to set it in the same way ?
If someone already done it, please do not hesitate.
Thank you.

yes basically set up a totally new node for the new disk, run identity again, set up a second container, connect via different ports, etc).
the rpi can theoretically handle it as long as it has enough ram and CPU for the second node instance. sudo docker stats will show you how much RAM is currently used on your current docker container.
I donāt use rpiās but they will eventually hit bottlenecks in cpu or RAM or the disk interfaces.
You can use this guide to prepare your hard drive and identity:
This guide describes nuances for the second and next nodes:
Ok thanks for your comments. I think I can try. I am using 15% max of my CPU and with a āfreeā command, it seems that I have enough RAM.
Please also note, you need to generate a new identity, not copy the existing one. The new authorization token is not enough to make it unique, for the satellite it would be the same identity, but with lost storage, thus - almost instant disqualification for both nodes - the old one and the clone.
Hello Alexey,
Thanks for all information and your work.
I did a new authorisation and a new identity but I am using the same email address and same wallet. Seems to work. I found a lot of posts with this question but it was mainly old ones.
I am using now 2 nodes on one raspberry pi 4 and it seems to work well. All stats seems to indicate that I can manage a third node in the futureā¦
Thatās right. You can use the same email and must use the same wallet for all your nodes. Please note, the email address is used only by satellites to notify you about the state of your node - offline/online, suspended or disqualified. Itās not used for anything else.
Is there an alternative solution for the storage with my Rpi4 ? Currently, I am using 2 usb3 ssd with usb powered system but after? Is there a way to control more storage capacity with the rpi?
The storage capacity - yes. The storage usage - no.
So in this case whatās your best advice? How to think after my second node ācompletionā?
No advises, if your first node almost full, then the second node would pass a vetting after a month or more and would accept traffic when the first one will be full.
It would accept it and before that, but it would be shared with the first one.
