Requirements for Becoming a Storj Select Node Operator

Hi Storj Team and Community,

I’m currently an active Storj Node Operator and have been running a standard node on the public network for a while now.
I’m very interested in understanding what it takes to become a Storj Select operator.

Specifically:

  • I have 100–500 TB of storage capacity ready to deploy. And can get hold of more if needed.
  • I have access to a dedicated server room with stable power, cooling, etc.

I’m wondering:

  • What are the exact technical and operational requirements for Storj Select?
  • Are there specific certifications (like SOC 2, ISO27001, HIPAA compliance) needed for my setup?
  • Does Storj require minimum internet speed, hardware specs, geographic locations, or SLAs (Service Level Agreements) for Select nodes?
  • What about monitoring, auditing, and maintenance expectations?
  • How is onboarding handled? Is there an application or vetting process?

I’d love to hear from anyone who is already part of the Select program or anyone from the Storj team who can share some insights.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Do you have a team of workers/employees that work in a datacenter ? Last I checked, Storj requires you to be a team rather than 1 person who can disappear and let Storj hang in front of its clients. Also require minimum 1PB to offer for Storj Select. Another user here tried and might know more details. I am tagging him

Thanks!
I do not have people hired. I do have a person that handles everything when i am gone, he takes care of different things for me if i am on vacation. based on a hourly rate at times.

Also 1PB might not be a problem if it turns out this is a route i can / want to go.

Hello!
I have attached the E-Mail I got. But please keep in mind, that this is half a year ago. So things could have changed

Yes, i filled that form and got a response the next day. They are pretty fast about that. But I still think that they should list the requirements better on that site. But on the other side I think that not many apply there

Requirements keep on changing so its better and easier to respond individually.

This is exactly the reasoning.

They are not constant. Who knows, maybe your offering could be used too :person_shrugging:

Hello, I emailed trough the form many days ago and have not received a response- how long is the usual wait?
Thanks

Depends on the load, also only in USA Business hours.
I would ask the team. Did you use the same email address as your forum account?
