Round Sync - Rclone for Android

If you have not noticed, there is a FOSS for Android called “Round Sync”, cloud file manager which implements Rclone and makes it possible to connect to Storj.

I tried it but it does not seem to me to be possible to switch the default satellite. Would anyone mind testing it out to see if it actually works?

It claims it “Supports Storage Access Framework (SAF) for SD card and USB device access, regular storage devices and of course any cloud compatible with rclone”, so if it is indeed usable, it should be pretty useful

Hello @Andisers,
Welcome back!

I used RCX application for Android

It’s working, but you need to import rclone config from the file.

what do you mean? Account is bound to the satellite, you cannot switch it, you need to have a separate account, registered on that satellite.

Based ont its repository at GitHub, Round Sync is indeed a fork of RCX. I am not quite sure how much different they have become.

Account is bound to the satellite, you cannot switch it, you need to have a separate account, registered on that satellite.

I mean it is not possible to change the satellite address on the UI:

I guess it would be a bug of the software, but I’d want to have it double-checked before submitting a bug report if needed.

perhaps a bug. The satellite address is needed only for the case when you use the API key and encryption phrase configuration method. If you would use an access grant, it has the embedded satellite address.

OK I see. I’ll give it a try and see how it works

I tried, it works great. I configured a native Storj integration and Storj S3 integration through their UI, not with importing the rclone config as for RCX.
Also, this fork has also scheduler for sync jobs and jobs can be switched to the copy mode, which is preferred for the smartphone (I periodically cleaning local storage, when it become full, because all documents and media are backed up to Storj, Google Photo and OneDrive already).

I also exposed it to other apps, so any app can put files there via Share function.
