Saltlake.tardigrade.io not doing vetting or audits

Hi all,

My stats of a newly launched node:

Used space rises nicely, now at 82 GB after two days.
Why is saltlake.tardigrade.io not doing any audits or vetting? What is wrong with it?
To my understanding, I should wait to 100% Vetted status before I launch second node (another hard drive in my PC)? How can I do so if saltlake server is not doing any work?

Hi @xgDkAbzkp9yi, welcome to our community!

This could be related to the lower ingress rate in SLC now a days. If there’s not enough data accumulated, it might be challenging to perform audits.

A better approach would be to add another node once the current node is (almost) full.

Thanks, that’s a good idea. To wait until I have some meaningful data stored, before I launch another node.
Still not sure exact reasons why saltlake is not giving me vetted/audited status.

Vetting is the process of achieving 100 successful audits, with audit checks occurring as you accumulate data. Given that the SLC test satellite is currently less active, you should expect fewer audits and, consequently, a slower vetting progress compared to other satellites.

I also have a new small node and after little more than a month it is now vetted for only 73%.

Just keep your node running, and it will be vetted over time. There is no need to worry.

Does this better answer your question?

Thanks, that would explain it. After another 2 days, I have 1 audit on saltlake satellite. I will just keep it running
