No, it’s not needed, but you can.
The email address is a part of the authorization token, but it doesn’t used for anything except subscription to the email list.
If the previous token has been used, you will get a new authorization token even if you would use the same email address.
There is no other memory of previous attempts.
There is no link between the authorization token and the exact identity - this authorization one-time token can be used to authorize any unsigned identity.
Moreover you can use a different email address in the storage node setup.
