tried again but now it was cached somewhere along the route.
just like yours might be… but yeah sure it could be bad luck that nobody had downloaded it in my region yet… i suppose it might be one of those things with very low traffic so it gets shelved on a shitty system somewhere.

my internet is most definitely not overloaded in anyway, i got like multiple hundreds of megabits to spare, and everything else is running without any sort of deviation.
could be cached at the isp side, or further up the chain… few things are direct connections to source
else one would overload the internet with sending the same data across already strained connections tons of times… so the fact that i just used it may have made it fast for you…
Uh no, isp do not cache files for you… there is no possible way you could have sped the download for me either. I don’t even live in the same country as you, I have a dedicated fiber line there’s no pre cache, we probably don’t even have the same route to the git hub servers…
there will almost always be caching, sure it verifies that the file it has is the existing one in the location and then if so it will hand you the one it already has cached…
pretty sure thats the basics of it… but feel free to waste your time to try and prove me wrong
that what it often feels like so I’m not going to do that
Just adding that he might not even have downloaded it from the same datacenter… after all github has multiple servers with load balancing etc.
maybe my download was from iran… xD sure felt like it
it is a bit funny that everybody seems to be an expert on how the internet works…
when it’s a very limit subset of 0.001% or less that really just have the slightest idea
