Storj.io major design overhaul?

https://www.storj.io/

So far I like it.

This should be an endless carousal or not have this much empty space.

Currently, it looks like someone forgot to upload rest of the entries or the empty space is a placeholder for future pictures.

I guess it is a work in progress…

IMO, that should be strictly for a staging site and not for production website.

I’ve passed your feedback on to the team

that’s not what the Case Studies page looks like for me.

The team said it is being updated.
You all are too fast

You are at the wrong page. Stay on the homepage and click through the → under " Customers and partners trust Storj."

On storj.io links are missing for Object Storage, Object Mount and Cloud GPUs “Learn more”, they all point to https://www.storj.io/#

That page also looks fine to me. There are many examples to choose from now listed here and you can switch left and right with arrows. Like Bree mentioned, we are updating the pages, so please have some patience until the designer is done making changes :slightly_smiling_face:

This was addressed and should be pointing to the correct pages.

It looks like you have messed up your footer links they are not pointing to the appropriate subpages:

Object Mount on the starting page is pointing to https://www.storj.io/object-mount which is the old version while in the header under products it is pointing to https://www.storj.io/object-mount/object-mount-for-media which is the new version.

And I think this claim on the landing page is not a great one:

At least for me ‘media cloud’ sounds like something specifically tailored for the M&E industry and such a focus is way too narrow and could repel other users looking for a storage solution.

If it’s good for media, it’s good for everything else, because usually the media requires speed and capacity.

I have not questioned that. But Storj should not tell that to me, they should make it clear for potential customers. That’s marketing.
There is more than media production workflows:

Just recently, there have been more or less credible rumors that a major surveillance customer has switched from one competitor of Storj to another. Both competitors explicitly market their offerings as storage solutions tailored for “surveillance” needs. Notably, it appears that this customer has not transitioned their data to Storj.

Whether this customer has ever considered Storj or even heard of it remains speculative. However, the mere thought that a potential Storj customer might overlook Storj while actively seeking storage alternatives for their surveillance data is disheartening.

When faced with competing companies, one providing media production workflow storage and while (multiple) others offering a dedicated “surveillance cloud” solution, to which one would you prioritize to talk to?

It would be at no cost for Storj to design its website in a way that it better targets a broad variety of relevant industries seeking cloud storage solutions, rather than focusing so much on media production that it appears the sole purpose of Storj storage are media production workflows.

Maybe we can have something like a wiki thread with a table or something where errors can be reported in one topic in a consistent manner.

I’m still stumbling across errors to report, I don’t know if anybody is working on completing the overhaul at all as everything is still mixed between what seems to be old, new and in progress.

https://www.storj.io/solutions/cloud-backup-storage

The table has some issues that I have marked. Data in fields does not always match what the row indicates and the stated Storj storage price of $5/TB I don’t know where this comes from as the pricing page is still stating $4/$7.

The comparison table is very nice but somebody maybe should have a look at it again.

Both buttons have the same link target. But for the “Explore fit” button the target https://www.storj.io/evaluate might be more appropriate for the time being.

As I could imagine that prior and during IBC many interested parties will be visiting the Storj website, the errors should be fixed to leave a consistent impression.

It’s an annual Reserved Storage Capacity, which requires a pre-pay and the contract for the exact amount. It includes also a one time egress on a storage amount, this is useful for backup purposes.

This idea has been shared with the team.
