They responded back saying/clarifying that for the same module model, sometimes they use Hynix, sometimes Micron or Samsung, depending on availability. Maybe when you place an order, you can ask them and they tell you what you will get… maybe.
Why should I care? All those brands are ok in my opinion.
That’s the correct answer. There are three memory vendors in the world: Samsung, Hynix, and Micron. That’s it.
Then there are bazillions mom and pop shops with a pick and place machine who can solder them on a pcb using reference design.
Nobody solders ram by hand. Any machine will do that just fine. Therefore there is no difference what ram to buy.
You may get ram from gray market/bototm binned chips. So what? It still works. And if it fails you buy another one. And another one. And another one. And still save money compared to overpaying for brand names, which by the way can also fail.
And besides, sometimes Chinese no name is excellent. For example, Anker started as such name - now they are doing pretty well.
Of course there are cases when you have to pay attention to brands and reputation - but not with commodities. Ram, and hard drives are now commodities.
