I wonder if it will turn even into negative?
Then SNOs have to pay the customers for their data.
That’s all we can hope for.

New STORJ intern must’ve fat fingered the rm -rf /
Let’s hope they did not start to wipe the paid data instead of the free data.
what? strange, the site doesnt show that on timeframes above 30 days, like 60, 90 days, and more. only <30 days hmm
in reality it more looks like 7 days.
They do not use that magic number 80 anymore, more like 61, you could see it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6lqZcrl1v0&t=375s&ab_channel=Storj, and if I was right about human nature, they tend to inflate thing to look good, meaning 12PB is already the 61 pieces on the network…
I lost around 20% of my total data, maybe this is the right proportion?
Which version of the node and location?
3 storagenode, Rome, Italy
Version 1.97.3
And the beautiful thing is that, while the customer’s stored data is going down, the total storage on the network is going up.
Don’t underestimate the will of a SNO!
“Clients are leaving…
Let’s add more storage! ”
How do you managed to do that?
Please check for gc-filewalker
messages, you must have some… if your log level not less than info
.
As i remember that free tier Accounts shod not been deleted jet but only frozen, would wait some comments from Storj about it. Just to know that it is OK or something gone wrong.
That was the plan. But maybe it did not work out like planned?
Till March 31st network capacity was ~60PB with 30PB used and 30PB unused. Now network capacity is ~38PB. I suspect removal of Storj Select data metrics so Storj can see how much used data remains. The free space is still the same as before April 2024.
When you look here https://stats.storjshare.io/data.json for the value storage_remote_bytes
, one can see that reported value is 0 for US and EU Satellites. I expect this is a wrongly reported Value, for whatever reason.
By end of March it was 12.5 (EU) and 14 PB (US). I expect it is getting fixed soon, so we have the correct values again.
Ah ok, then its is coming back in the meantime, great!
Damn it, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to buy any more ultrastars this month. Oh well.
This should be fixed now. Sorry about the discrepancy, and thank you for noticing!
