Updates on Test Data

Wow - I don’t know if anyone else can check their router graphs: but it’s 3:30pm EST for me and I’m seeing more ingress than ever before?

I thought performance testing was done and we were coasting at TTL-replacement-rates: but I’m not complaining!

Seeing it too in the west coast

at first i was like :meh, forum talks. then i checked my nodes, and Oo the 700Mbps ingress total is for real, never saw before, pls tell me its test? otherwise it might be true that some xxx website admin found us handy for the hosting! lol

I’m seeing it here too. Hard to tell if it’s more data than before. I’m getting “bursts” of traffic. Seems more like real data than test data. Hard to measure the bursting though. My router graphs need more than 1-2 seconds of data to show me what’s going on.

…but…i have a lot of hard drives to fill, so as Johnny Mnemonic would say…“hit me”

~55Mbps per IP here, wouldn’t call this router-melting-bandwidth.

Maybe it’s a North American thing? I don’t see a huge spike for Th3Van either. :person_shrugging:

Seeing the same with NA IPs as well, so it could be just lucky selection.

Yeah. Fairly average traffic on my nodes in Europe (after a couple of hours pause earlier in the day).
Must be a NA thing indeed

Not much here in EU either

I limited the storj bandwidth so I don’t know if there is an increase.

It’s only about 100-120 megabits maximum in north america, fyi

Saturated bandwith and several hundreds MBit/s in Germany :man_shrugging:t2:

I need fiber, but Deutsche Telekom say no, not before 2027 :see_no_evil:
So lets test the 5G :eyes:

5G with around 10Mbit/s and 4G with around 50Mbit/s? It’s mostly this case according to my experience. Thats why I stick to 4G. 5G towers seem to be overloaded. It was also back then, when 3G was a thing. With 3G I got around 20Mbit/s and with 4G only 5-7Mbit/s.

I have two 5/4G Antennas, the first one works with 5G and brings 200MBit/s, the second one 4G up to 100MBit/s.
But the carrier of the 4G Antenna (O2) Limits the bandwith to 50mbit/s (even if they say they dont).

The Bandwith depends on the usage of the cell in the mobile network.

Is there any good tariff with unlimited traffic? I’m also looking for a second IP/Network to saturate. Unfortunately o2 raised their unlimited tariff (with full speed bandwidth) from 60€ to 62.5€ and now to 100€, because “people where using it with 4G routers and made too much traffic”, isn’t that what it’s made for  Even as second contract with 50% off, it’s still 50€.

They have an unlimited tarif for home usage (even their own 5G Router), „O2 Home L“.
I got it for 30€/month as partner-Tarif (50% off).
But they raised prices.
And because of the Bandwith-Limit it’s not worth
It even for 30€/Month, so i have cancelled it After the Contact-Period.

But if there wasnt the limiting, it was very nice and stable.

Maybe try FUNK? It’s 30€ for unlimited traffic. This means it has to pay off with Storj, and your net income will be less.

Testing is ongoing and continues. The parameters of the tests change as the team focuses on different things. Sometimes testing is paused as the team works on something, but then it resumes.

Testing is on Salt Lake. Other Sats are customers.
