Vetting and ingress for new nodes are painfully slow

18 days and no vetting audits. Ingress is awful also. 1 node in subnet… before you ask.

No Audit Traffic and No Repair Traffic?

Returning Node Operator. Started a new Node. Up for about 10 days now. I show no repair nor audit traffic. Grepping the log for GET_REPAIR and GET_AUDIT returns nothing. Plenty of normal ingress and egress. Nearly 100GB stored in the 10 days. Any reason I wouldn’t be getting repair/audit traffic? [image]

They recently changed the ingress share for new nodes from 5% to 1%. This might explain the low ingress rates.

Also I noticed a long delay until the audit even begins. For some reason I guess it is 30 days.

Just adding my two cents for anybody else who is beginning the vetting process. I created a new node yesterday and the first audit came in about 24 hours after the node was created. This node is on the US1 satellite only. During this first 24 hours, the node received 150,210 files which is about 20 gigs in size. Maybe they adjusted the vetting system again because I find it hard to believe this is only 1% of normal traffic.

1% of all ingress a satellite is responsible for is reserved for unvetted nodes. You are sharing this ingress among all the other unvetted nodes.

This is a 5 day old node. Recently created nodes are reviewed very quickly. Last year, I think it took 2-3 months…

And it is impressive that ingress is increasing rapidly even for nodes that have not been reviewed, perhaps due to recent testing. I hope it continues like this

We changed the vetting process a little bit since then.
We wanted to reduce the time for the vetting process, and also with all new nodes do not have to point all the new traffic mostly to the vetting nodes (because they are a minority of the storagenode population).
