Hey there. Just wanted to confirm that emails from Finance_SNO@storj.com are legit, regarding payments over $600 for the year.

I want to confirm before I send my personal information (eg. SSN) to a random email.

Is it wise to send the form preemptively? Or should I wait till I receive a email from storj?

It does not matter. I’ve sent mine as soon as I realized I’ll blow through the limit this year. If not — they’ll send reminder, and you can send then. It does not matter really, but I prefer to do things in my schedule, not on someone else’s… from the link above

Both U.S. persons and Foreign persons who are storage node operators should scan and submit the appropriate signed form (W-9 for US persons or W-8BEN for foreign contractors) to our accountant’s email address: finance_SNO@storj.io

No. Storj only needs it if your earnings exceeded $600 for the tax year. If so they would have send you an email.

I sent it too last year, without receiving an email. This year I won’t send anything. I made more than 600$/year in the last 3 years, and never got an email from them.

Part II 9 enter the country where you are a resident.
Part II 10 depends on your answer to 9

If they need additional information from you or if something looks incomplete, they will reach out after receiving the form.

If you submitted this form last year, you do not need to resubmit it unless there are changes, or it will be requested.
