When the first sanctions were decreed, Storj made sure there was enough resilience with pieces to ensure there would be no data loss even if the whole of Russia went offline suddenly.
I am not sure if that is still the case but it may well be.

judging by the statistics, there is simply a huge number of nodes. I wonder how much memory goes there
