With Tardigrade cloud storage, files are encrypted and split into pieces client-side, then distributed across our network of high-performance storage nodes, making it virtually impossible for your data to be compromised.
Our history
We were founded in 2014 with the idea that there could be a more affordable way to store data in the cloud using existing hardware and infrastructure, rather than building out costly datacenters with huge overhead.
We launched our first platform in the summer of 2017. Storj became the largest decentralized cloud storage network in the world (that we know of) and struggled to scale past 150 PBs of data stored across 150,000 nodes. We took the lessons we learned from the first network and built them into our current V3 network.
