Your node gets disquaified and you lose the “held amount”.
You can create a new node (on a working drive), but it will have to be vetted again, then it will take a whiel to accumulate data etc.

This is why this rule
is applied on the forum - to avoid such “useful” messages 
If you do not want to waste your time on answer - do not answer, this is simple. If you have something useful to say, it’s likely will pass this limit.

Lol, I did answer it, the real consequence of a HDD crash or losing your data is losing the node → damage. OP is going to lose the whole node in case his drive crashes. But Pentium100 already explained it all before me anyway, so OP got his answer.
