Worrying statistics... (hopefully a mistake)

According to Storj Network Statistics - Grafana (and verified by looking at stats.storjshare.io/data.json) there are some files with only 21 healthy blocks on EU1, and 1 (!!!) healthy block on US1.

Based on my understanding, 29 pieces are needed to recreate a segment, so are we seeing data loss?

I would not pay too much attention to this — the stats presented there are notoriously unreliable.

That’s OK then, had me worrying for a second!

I’ve managed to dig into the history on Grafana and it looks like something went wrong on 2025-04-03 for US1, as it started showing 1608 pieces per segment…!

Hello @MatthewSteeples,
Welcome to the forum!

The R/S numbers are different even per customer, especially on Select. US1 includes stat from Select, so may be either the stat is wrong or there is some use-case where this is ok.
I would ask the team though, thanks!

I got a confirmation from the team, it’s a reporting issue (the wrong metric).
The team is working on implementation of the correct metric for the minimum healthy pieces count.
