my unvetted nodes got 2.7GB ingress yesterday (both combined since same subnet). My vetted node got 12GB. So currently that’s 22.5% of the ingress of a vetted node. So it’s still a long way from a vetted node actually only receiving 5% of a vetted node. So this system is actually faster for unvetted nodes.

Satellite vetting and traffic comparison

It depends on the number of nodes being vetted on that satellite. For example if a satellite has 5000 nodes (/24 ipv4 subnets), a single node would get 95%/5000=0.019% of all traffic. If that satellite has only 100 unvetted nodes, a single unvetted node would get 5%/100=0.05% of all traffic. So in this example the unvetted nodes would even get more ingress traffic than a regular node. I have 2 unvetted nodes on the same subnet so vetting will take them longer. They are both 1 month old now and vetting is done 11% (europe-north) up to 54% (on saltlake).
