Yes, it updates itself. In some cases it could lead uncontrolled respawn of multiple copies of watchtower. In that case you can try to remove all of them:

if you have issues with respawning multiple instances of watchtower, you can kill them all (powershell/bash): docker rm --force $(docker ps -qf ancestor=storjlabs/watchtower) and run only one instance
