Data Usage Discrepancy Between Dashboard and Actual Storage

Hello Storj community,

I’ve noticed a concerning discrepancy between my node’s actual storage usage and what’s being displayed on the Storj dashboard. Let me share the details:

Dashboard Statistics:

  • Bandwidth Used This Month: 0.68TB
  • Average Disk Space Used: 128.22GB
  • Total Disk Space: 5TB
  • Currently Used: 469.3GB
  • Free Space: 4.51TB
  • Trash: 25.56GB

However, when checking my actual storage usage, I’m seeing significantly higher numbers:

  • Storage Used: 662.26 GiB
  • Total Available: 138.08 TiB

This represents a notable difference between the dashboard metrics and actual storage utilization. The pattern began around January 11th, as shown by the bandwidth utilization graph which displays a sharp increase in ingress traffic.

Questions:

  1. Is anyone else experiencing similar discrepancies between dashboard readings and actual storage usage?
  2. Could this be related to the recent increase in ingress traffic?
  3. What troubleshooting steps would you recommend to identify the root cause?

I would appreciate any insights or guidance on resolving this issue. I’m running this node on TrueNAS Scale

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hello @Barlog951,
Welcome to the forum!

Both are known issues:
Avg:

TL;DR
Avg cannot be fixed on the storagenode side, because it’s missing reports from the satellite. Unless you can solve this issue: Fix storage usage gaps displaying · Issue #7009 · storj/storj · GitHub

Total Used space:

This one has a workaround, but not a fix, see the topic.

Both issues do not affect your payouts.
