How much can I earn with a 1GBit connection?

I don’t have any Exos E to compare it to. What I can say is that it seems to be about similar to the Ironwolfs I’ve bought in recent years. And a whole lot better than the ST8000VN0002, which is a Seagate NAS prior to the Ironwolf series. That must have been the noisiest one I’ve ever had. It has an annoying whine to it. But that noisy one and 13 other less noisy HDDs make it a bit hard to compare for me. I recommend searching for some reviews if this is important to you. I’ve learned to live with the sound of 15 spinning HDDs. Luckily I don’t sleep near them.

Thanks. I don’t sleep near the node with the Exos E ether

I’ve only heard 1TB IronWolves with should feature way less platters and therefore aren’t the best comparison to high capacity drives…

6 000 in different subnets? If I understand correctly, then It could be 6 000 or less. For ex. 600 nodes. Or even 60 nodes. Because nobody knows if they have any “neighbors” in their subnet. That’s why I wonder if storj calculates nodes in a same subnet but with different emails as different nodes. In that case may be it is better to show subnet statistic? Or node owners will be disappointed because of low traffic (because there are a lot of nodes in their subnet and they don’t know about it)?

And another question that I couldn’t find answer is how storj connects nodes and clients. Does storj use any kind of coordinates (latitude/longitude) of ip to determine closest nodes for clients? Or it just picks random ip from each subnet (to get ~100 nodes)?

But for most of details it is better to read a whitepaper

Nodes are treated separately for all but one thing. Uploads, when nodes are selected to upload to, the satellite first picks a random set of subnets and then picks a node within each subnet. This is how it is ensured that nodes don’t get more data if there are more of them. So the 6000 nodes could be in the same subnet, but if they are they’re almost certainly on the same IP and owned by the same SNO. The chances of having another SNO in your subnet are basically 0 at this point.

how many TB is tour node?

what specific brand/model is your 12TB hard drive?

I have 3 nodes now. 24TB+2TB+2TB
They consist of too many HDD’s to list here but the recent purchases were a 12TB Ironwolf and 2x 16TB Exos X16

3 nodes in a single PC? or 3 nodes with separate PC’s each

I run them all from my Synology DS3627xs. The smaller ones are a Drobo 2nd gen connected to USB and a 2TB HDD in a USB enclosure. The large node is running on the main array inside the unit.

Is the /24 for nodes just IPv4 or also IPv6?

For comparison reasons I suggest looking into spread sheet
