Hello, I made a secound node with the ToolBox but I can’t start it.

Here is the error-code:

The error looks like you didn’t run the setup command, but I’m not sure whether that is something the toolbox would take care of for you. Maybe @Vadim can help.

useualy toolbox make them, what version of toolbox do you use shold be 1.8

Yes I use the 1.8 Version. But it didn’t work. It tried it serval times.

Welcome to the forum!

This error mean that you didn’t setup your node - either with Windows Installer, or manually with storagenode.exe setup --config-dir .... --identity-dir ...

You can wait for @Vadim or try to setup it yourself. Just make sure to specify the right paths to your config file and identity.
The config file must have a storage location specified or you can provide it with options.

Please, show your setup command and result of its execution. You can hide the private information
The Windows installer can setup only one node on one Windows PC.
The supported way to run the second and next nodes on the same Windows PC is docker: CLI Install - Node Operator
But you can setup the Windows node without a docker either manually or with Vadim’s Toolbox.

You need to explicitly specify the path to the configuration for the second node with --config-dir option, it should not point to the config of your first node.
I would assume that the path to config would be f:\storagenode2\\
However, you also need to specify other directories with options:

  • --log.output winfile:///F:\storagenode2\storagenode.log
  • --storage2.orders.path f:\storagenode2\orders
  • --storage.path f:\storagenode2

I just instaled new node from sratch and all worked perfectrly.
So some questions.
Did you signed identitie with new key from storj website? identitie shold have 6 files then.
can you show config file?
can you also show storage path? waht files and maps do you have there?

first thing, when you delete node from toolbox, this not mean you delete node.
it only can install node and manage it. when you push search it will find it once more.
before you instaled F disk was wiped? Also C:\Programe files\storj1 was deleted?
also need to make sc.exe delete storagenode1 in cmd as admin
if f disc not wiped and folders or conf exist it will not create test file.
recoment you to move indentities to c:\ with proper map names like indentitie, identitie1…
then when you generate new one you will not mix them, if you mix indentitie you will kill boath nodes

Yeah I konw I deleted my last node before but I forgot it to delete in the toolbox. And the files in drive F I deleted too. How can I delete sc.exe?
