Well it was working and now its no longer working, and again I changed nothing…

Please contact our support team at support@photosplus.app so that we can assist you with why this seems to be occurring for your account and not others. Without knowing which account is being affected, it’s very difficult for us to try to find out why, and we’d like to keep this forum for general question and features about this app if possible rather than support issues. Thank you.

I don’t understand why you cant import from an existing bucket. That is the huge road block for me, and I’m sure many other users of storj, that are using this service to store our content already. I’ve been looking for a good photo managment app to use, and this app hits many marks, but I’m not willing to download almost a TB of photos to my computer or phone just to upload them back to the exact same service. Just makes no sense.

If you are advertising that you work great with storj and other compatible S3 storage… you should focus on being able to work with existing users of this storage, not just on moving people from traditional photo storage like Google.

May I suggest something like the import using Google Takeout files, but an import from existing bucket? I don’t see how this could be a difficult task… I can do it with one rclone command, however if I do move my photos from my other bucket directly, they don’t show up in the app because they werent ā€œsyncedā€ using it.

If I’m missing something and it can already be done, please share!

Thank you for your comments. We are actually working on offering an import option from s3 compatible storage. We already have an import option from google photos (via google takeout) but didn’t think there were too many people in your situation.

The reason you can’t just add photos directly to the bucket is because Photos+ is a lot more than just a S3 browser. It pre-processes all the photos and videos for geolocation and AI image classification and also creates optimized cached versions for sharing purposes and to save on bandwidth for in app views. So all this stuff needs to first occur for each photo that’s is either imported from other sources or uploaded through the app.

When this feature is complete, you’ll be able to provide a source storage location (s3 bucket) and the import utility will automatically download all the photos from your bucket, process them and add them to Photos+ so you won’t have to download them to your computer or app only to re-upload them to Photos+.

okay thankyou very much. I’ll await this feature release

We’ve now added the ability to import your photos and videos from other S3 compatible storage platforms in addition to importing from Google Photos. Please try it out and let us know how it works for you.

In our internal testing, we were able to import approximately 100 to 200 GB of data per hour! Of course this will depend on the download and upload speeds of your source and destination buckets.

Hi @Alexey and others, nice to meet you all!
Maybe you talked about it in this forum page but I prefer to ask my question so as not to forget it
Do you know if there will soon be a version of Photos+ hosted on Windows 10 that will allow users to automate the transfer of files from Google Photos to Photos+?
Thank you guys, see you soon

I think that is a question only @photosplusapp could answer.

Hi @photosplusapp I recently downloaded your app on iOS. I see I am in a 14 day free trial. Are you still honoring the subscription discount for Storj users? I’ve set up my S3 already and started a backup. Thanks!
