Solu, After we have a signed contract how quickly could you spin up new nodes. That is one of the main discussions internally. How quickly can the network react to the news of a big deal. Is a forum post detailing a signed contract even enough, or will SNOs wait until their nodes are actually full before they add more capacity? Obviously these are important questions for us on the capacity planning side.

Ok now I get it. The announcement is more about the growth we are expecting with or without signed deals. If they don’t get signed we have to keep uploading testdata for the next big customers. If the deals are getting signed there is no need to allocate twice as much capacity.

A significant amount of defunct customer data is being planned to be removed as early as this weekend. The majority on EU1. As I understand it, these were free accounts that did not transition to paid after several months of being locked down. Some SNO’s may see a lot of data being deleted. It is important to note that this is not the same data that is being used on the Salt Lake servers and is not part of the ongoing testing.

Our internal dashboard is showing 7.6 PB at the moment. I would estimate that there is another 6 PB or so in the trash folder. So in total we should be at 13-14 PB. Our target is 20 PB. Just to give you an idea of what to expect. For your node you can simply assume that you are holding used space + trash and you will grow by another 50% or so (without us adding surge nodes).
