Curious, I looked at Chia when that project started but have been unplugged for a long time. What’s the backstory on the Chia refugees? Any good links for more info?
it’s not that complicated. there were a lot of crypto miners buying up hard drive space to farm chia. But chia has become less or un-profitable, depending on your electric cost.
People with excess hard drive space look for a way to deploy it profitably.
That’s actually how I found storj a year or two ago (after I had sold off my chia drives, lol).
