Avg disk space chart [US1]

Hi all

Anyone having issues with the chart showing a drop again ???

My chart for the US1 satellite seems to be missing data. The last 3 days shows practically zero.

Seems definitely something happening ….

Nothing happening, that’s the point. US1 seems does not send reports to almost all or to all nodes.

If the satellite doesn’t do what is supposed to do, there is something wrong. Call it bug or feature, but you should fix it.

yeah, another thread, OMG. Please fix it. It’s a bug or not. Please fix it.

haha yes … ‘something’ as in another issue with calcuations… @Alexey Do you know if this affects payouts ?

They will say no. :slightly_smiling_face: But why should there be that one thing without any bugs ever while anything else is buggy like hell?

No, it will not affect payouts, but it affects the payout estimation.

@pangolin your pull requests are always welcome! Being not constructive unfortunately not, because it’s completely unhelpful and demotivating.
It’s very hard to involve developers to participate in the forum, when there are so much negative comments with zero attempts to help.

My nodes received a report for July 14, however there are gaps anyway. And SLC is missing too.

I wasn’t aware that this was our responsibility. Please grant us access to the satellite and we’ll start debugging right away.

No, it’s not a responsibility, but the help. However, my suggestion was for this sentence:

The issue with a gaps on the dashboard due missing reporting for some days can be solved by the Community too, there is a not implemented feature, where the Community can help:

Information, information, information - I’ve emphasized its importance repeatedly. To improve information, I suggest the following:

  1. Write it as dashboard status information when data is missing.
  2. Develop a status website for node operations, highlighting any issues that arise.
  3. Consider visualizing the graph as stacked outputs from each satellite, making it instantly clear when data is missing from a specific satellite.

However, these solutions won’t address the demotivating effect of seeing estimated forecasts dwindle daily. So it should be fixed too.

Everything requires resources to implement any feature, include these multiple statuses. And without help of the Community it likely will take a lot of time.

I think that the mentioned feature request should also include backfill gaps feature, since many Community tools uses these reports to estimate a payout and calculate a discrepancy between a local usage (still from the databases unfortunately) and what’s reported by the satellites. It will be a rough estimation anyway, like a suggested statistical usage calculation (On a statistical approach for the used space file walker) though, but there is currently no a better way. With increasing customers usage these not finished in time tallies likely will happen more frequently.

I don’t expect devs to participate a lot in the forum, this is your job. In fact I see at least one dev way to much here.

Yeap. Do you know why?
Because we need a constructive feedback. Like how to reproduce and do not attack the developers (I know this is very difficult for you), it will help (really). They need time to fix everything that the Community has found. Just please don’t attack. Yes, I’ll convey your thoughts in normal form (no attacks), but it’s a longer process if you really want to convey important information without intermediaries (who will translate your attacks into something useful).

Я тоже не против оказания помощи в развитии инструмента, также могу предоставить доступ разработчикам на свою ноду, или собирать какую либо информацию.
