May 11, 2022: Ethereum Layer 1, zkSync, and Polygon payouts for the month of April are now complete

Hello! Payouts for the completed month of April are complete.

For layer 1 payments, we paid 2,443 unique wallet addresses! Part of this larger-than-normal amount was due to low gas fees, but part of it is we paid March layer 1 payments again! For more details about what happened, check this thread.

We’ve now fixed our accounting system. Thanks for your patience with us! If you received layer 1 payments in March or April, take a moment to restart your storage node to make sure the payment dashboard gets the corrected history.

In terms of payments, the practical upshot is that our accounting system believes we owe some storage node operators a negative amount. This will even out over time, but suffice it to say March’s layer 1 operators received an advance on May’s payouts alongside April payouts. Our accounting system sums up what storage nodes have earned (denominated in USD) and subtracts what storage nodes have been paid (denominated in USD at the time of transfer). This same mechanism will happen for May, too. So, worth repeating: for people who received layer 1 payment in March or April, May’s payouts will be lower, because we effectively already paid some.

Our layer 1 pipeline, like other months, still attempted a minimum payment threshold. It’s a bit confusing since the payments included March’s amounts, but all transactions were sent that were $16 or more. Only layer 1 payments were susceptible to the accounting mishap above, so zkSync and Polygon payments continued like normal without double payment.

For zkSync payments, we paid 1,518 unique wallet addresses. Everyone who opted into zkSync got a 10% bonus (and will again next month)! Thanks for participating in the future of Ethereum scaling with us!

For Polygon payments, we paid 55 unique wallet addresses. If you’re interested in learning how to enable this, please see the announcement post.

Across all layers, we paid 4,003 unique addresses. As always, if you have more questions, please make sure you’ve read through our mega FAQ.

The policies put in place regarding bonuses for nodes operated in Ukraine are still in place.
